The Short Version

Share your referral link with a colleague. When they buy Confidant through it, you each get one free month once their first 31 days have passed.

Your Referral Link

Every Confidant license comes with its own link, in the form confidantnotes.com/r/ followed by an 8-character code. When someone opens your link, their browser remembers your code for 30 days and takes them to checkout.

What Counts as a Referral

A referral counts when all of these are true:

Your colleague makes a new purchase through checkout carrying your code. Upgrades and renewals of an existing license don't count.
Your own license is active at the time of their purchase.
They aren't you. Purchases using the same license, the same email address, or the same payment account as yours don't count.
They haven't already been referred by someone else. Each new customer can have only one referrer, and the first referral recorded is the one that counts.

Your Reward

You get one free month, and so does the colleague you referred. Both months are granted automatically 31 days after their purchase. There's nothing to claim.

We'll email you when a referral is recorded and again when your free month is applied.

How the Free Month Is Applied

On a subscription: your next billing date moves out by one month, and you aren't charged for that month.
On a lifetime license with an updates subscription: your next updates renewal moves out by one month, and your updates coverage is extended to match.
On a lifetime license without an updates subscription: the free month is saved and applied when you next start an updates subscription.

Refunds and Disputes

If the referred purchase is refunded or disputed before its first 31 days are up, the referral is cancelled and no free months are granted. If it's refunded or disputed after the months were granted, we take those months back. Taking a month back never moves a billing date into the past or triggers an immediate charge.

Rewards Are Service Credit

Free months are credit toward Confidant only. They have no cash value and can't be transferred, sold, or exchanged.

Fair Use

Referrals are meant for sharing Confidant with colleagues. We may cancel referrals, and withhold or take back free months, if we believe the program is being abused, for example through fake accounts or self-referrals.

Changes to the Program

We may change or end the referral program at any time. If we do, you keep any free months already granted to you.
